Burton resident Lesley Gill has published an illustrated book of her poems, which she is selling in aid of the Heron Theatre at Beetham. Lesley is a trustee of the Heron Theatre and a member of The Heron Theatre Writing Group. The books will be on sale at the Burton Memorial Hall Christmas Market on Saturday 14th November, open 10am - 4pm.

We are delighted to be able to bring you an article by Jane Dean, the founder of A Breath For Life, the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Oxygen unit at Heysham. We have spent several hours at the unit recently in support of a good friend who is undergoing this therapy, and it has been an eye-opener for us to see how successful it is being for her, and a joy to meet Jane Dean, the founder, and the staff and volunteers who operate the unit. Jane will also be giving a talk at Burton Memorial Hall on Monday 2nd November at 7.30pm about the unit and their success stories, so we hope you will come along and listen to what she has to say.

Every Friday afternoon the Beginners Line-dancing group takes place at Burton Memorial Hall. The classes will be from 12.30 until 2pm, and the cost is £5 per person. More details from Sue on 07772 757748.
The weekly Knit and Natter group at the hall meets tonight from 6.30pm - 8.30pm in the Club Room. Open to all, £2 per session, includes tea/coffee and cake each week. Bring your current WIP and chat with friendly others over their WIPs, or help plan and create one of the fabulous postbox toppers, or yarn bomb the village! Help is also available if you get stuck / as needed with a pattern or technique.
