Have you got your gigabit broadband voucher yet?

B4RN for Burton logo
Ahead of tonight's village meeting, you might like to check out the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme here: https://b4rn.org.uk/b4rn-service/gbvs/
Mike Iddon from B4RN for Burton said, "We are wanting people to request vouchers as it reduces the cost of the scheme to us and also gives them £150 or £300 to dig in their connection depending if they are a resident or business."

BT Payphone Removal Consultation 2019

BT phone box review 2019BT are consulting about the removal of 76 payphone boxes across South Lakeland which they claim are underused.

Two of those listed are in Milnthorpe, one in Heversham, one at Holme Mills, one at Hutton Roof, one at Levens, one at Stainton, and one at Hale, along with others in Kendal, Grange over Sands, Ulverston and a host of smaller towns and villages. Some of them have not been used in more than a year, but others do get used. e.g. one in Kirkby Lonsdale 66 uses, two at Grasmere 76 and 81 uses, and the one by Ulverston railway station had 179 uses. The figures are not huge but many of them are in areas with poor mobile coverage so they do still have a role to play.

You can have your say about the proposals until 4th December here

Full list of boxes proposed for removal can be found in the PDF file HERE
