Table Tennis News 12

Early Season Update – October 2026

The new table tennis season is now fully up and running. This season Burton TTC has one team in Division 1 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League, two teams in Division 2 and one team in the newly created Division 3. I am pleased to say that one of our strongest junior players, Mark Read, is now part of the Burton D squad playing in Division 3. I’m sure he will benefit greatly from the experience.

Competitive table tennis in the Kendal & District Table Tennis League began in the week commencing September 28th, 2026. Burton A, the defending Division 1 Champions, captained this season by Simon Gregory, have started strongly. James Burton has started particularly well, winning 4 of his 6 matches to date and currently sitting 5th in the Division 1 averages. Burton B have won all 3 of their matches so far, including wins against their 2 strongest opponents, Natland C and Natland Holker A. David Hewitt is unbeaten. Burton D, captained by Dave Salmon and making their debut in the new Division 3, are finding it challenging but all members of the squad are picking up points and hopefully enjoying the challenge.

Junior table tennis is now taking place each Thursday from 5.00 to 6.00, followed by an Adult Social session from 6.00 to 7.00.

We are currently considering the possibility of introducing an additional adult social table tennis session to take place during the day. Two people have so far expressed an interest in this so if anybody else would be interested in such a session, please let me know. We need 3 or 4 more to make it viable.

Anyone interested in attending Junior Training or Adult Social Table Tennis or playing competitively in the Kendal League should text or WhatsApp Tony March on 07814 029471 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
