Warm Welcome Wednesday at Burton Memorial Hall

Knit and Natter at the Memorial Hall every Wednesday 6.30-8.30pm

The weekly Knit and Natter group at the hall meets tonight from 6.30pm - 8.30pm in the Club Room. Open to all, £2 per session, includes tea/coffee and cake each week. Bring your current WIP and chat with friendly others over their WIPs, or help plan and create one of the fabulous postbox toppers, or yarn bomb the village! Help is also available if you get stuck / as needed with a pattern or technique.

NB there is no Knit and Natter on Wed 24th Dec or Wed 31st Dec 2025.

Morecambe Bay Food Bank collections in Burton

22nd April, 2020: I'm really pleased to be able to say that we are now a local collection point for Morecambe Bay Foodbank!

Morecambe Bay Foodbank will accept all donations but are especially keen to have:

Tins of: beans; meat(s); fruits; vegetables; fish; soup; tomatoes; rice pudding
Bottles of: squash; juice (esp. orange); jam; pasta sauce
Packets of: pasta; sugar; cereal; teabags; instant noodles; instant rice; biscuits; custard; instant mash

If anyone in Burton would like to donate to the food bank but cannot get to a collection box please message us and we'll arrange for a pick up from you by a member of the team, or if you prefer you can donate money directly to the food bank via this link, and thank you for all of your support so far.

SAVE GRANGE LIDO

Since May 2018 we have been actively involved in the campaign to restore the derelict Grange Lido at Grange over Sands. The campaign group is now a Community Benefit Society and is working with Westmorland and Furness Council, the site's owners, on restoration plans.
