2013 Protest of Flowers at War Memorials

Burton families with former and serving members of the armed forces placed flowers at the Burton war memorial on 15th June, 2013, in memory of Drummer Lee Rigby, the soldier murdered in Woolwich on 22 May 2013.

The murder of Lee Rigby, a serving soldier, sent a shock wave through the country, especially within families who have members serving in the military forces. By joining the campaign to place flowers at every war memorial throughout the country we hoped to show both that we support our armed service personnel wherever they may be based, and that terrorism in any form will not bring us down.

UPDATE: The date of the funeral of Lee Rigby was announced as Friday 12 July 2013 at Bury Parish Church in Lancashire.
