Local history society talk Monday 15th December 2025

The next meeting of the Burton, Holme and District Local History Society will be held at Burton Memorial Hall on Monday 15th December, starting at 7.30pm. The talk is entitled, Holidaying in the Lake District in the 1940s and 1950s, is by Dr Rob David. All are welcome. Admission free for LHS members, £3 for non-members.

SAVE GRANGE LIDO

Since May 2018 we have been actively involved in the campaign to restore the derelict Grange Lido at Grange over Sands. The campaign group is now a Community Benefit Society and is working with Westmorland and Furness Council, the site's owners, on restoration plans.
