Local history society indoor meetings resume

Burton Holme and District Local History Society meeting at Burton Memorial Hall Mon 15th Sep 7.30pm.

The Burton, Holme and District Local History Society starts its winter season of talks on Monday 15th September at Burton Memorial Hall, with a talk by Val Fermer, entitled Westmorland Families Who Migrated to Manchester in the 1800s. SAVE GRANGE LIDO

Since May 2018 we have been actively involved in the campaign to restore the derelict Grange Lido at Grange over Sands. The campaign group is now a Community Benefit Society and is working with Westmorland and Furness Council, the site's owners, on restoration plans. Suzi and Alex Carrington have set up their roastery on the Keer Park trading estate in Carnforth and sell a range of wonderful coffees. The roastery is now open on Mondays 9am - 2pm.
